This is what our dinners look like. We sit around on plastic white chairs and eat whatever our chef Linda has prepared. All very good of coarse!Today was a "zero" day for miles. My bike was very dirty and was making some clicking sounds yesterday. This is a picture of me cleaning my bike. Upon closer examination I found that my chain had a link that had come partially apart. That
explained the odd noise. I walked it up to the local bike shop and they put a new chain on and tuned my bike back up. I am very thankful that the chain didn't break while I was riding! Walla Walla is a lovely town. Lots of little stores and restaurants, stately mansions and lush gardens. My friend Peg and I walked around and learned the history of the area. The town was started in the early 1800's but most of the homes remaining were built later than the 1870's. People settled there who made their money in cattle in
Idaho and in banking.
The park was designed by the same guy who designed Central Park-(Olmsted)?? The middle picture is Main Street and I am in front of the home of one of the early families of Walla Walla. The house is being restored and is a museum. Tomorrow we will be heading to Dayton, Washington - 29 miles. We will be staying in four different places to accommodate us all. Internet excess is limited so you won't here from me until Lewiston, Idaho.
